10th Anniversary for Conference

Ten years ago a small discussion group decided to share all they were learning about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad with a bigger audience. We are so proud of the research and stories that have been shared with hundreds of attendees over the last nine years.

We hope you will join us this year, making it a true celebration of Harriet’s and those who took the risk to believe that they could too enjoy FREEDOM. They had a faith that is sometimes missing today. These seekers risked leaving their families, trades and the land that they knew. Their faith allowed them to leave the familiar for the opportunity to be FREE. It’s hard to imagine today the tough decisions they faced. We know many stories of Harriet Tubman’s bravery and the risks she took to come back to rescue her family, but there were more heroes. Some were the people of faith who provided food, shelter and clothes for those running north. There were those who hid them in their wagons and risked the slave catchers. There were those who recorded their journey so we know their stories. There were the unsung heroes who ferried slaves to freedom on water and dared not record their stories.

So-Please come and experience the landscape, the stories and the faith that our presenters have unearthed. This conference is a wonderful place to meet others who share your passion for history.
